Research Symposium

ISAAC 2010 RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM
July 30-31, 2010

Announcement of Research Strands

The ISAAC Research Symposium is taking shape and we are most excited about the different strands that will be presented as part of the symposium. The purpose of the seminar is to allow researchers (established and new) the opportunity to engage in discussions on specific topics to further the field of AAC.

There are three provisional strands at this stage:

  • A Topic on Qualitative Research
    (Main organizer - Susan Balandin, Department of Health and Social Care, Molde University College, Norway);
  • Conversation Analysis
    (Main organizer -Jeff Higginbotham, Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences, University at Buffalo);
  • Graphic Symbols
    (Main organizer - Filip Loncke, Department of Communication Disorders, University of Virginia).

Apart from some short presentations, each of these strands will also include a recorder to assist in the documentation of the discussion during these sessions, to ensure that the research proceedings include not only the papers but also the discussions that evolve from the presentations.

If you have any questions about the structure and organization of the symposium, please send an e-mail to lloydaac@purdue.edu.
